Oriental Combat Sport
O-Sport
Martial Artist and champions were suffered for lack of some free rules in
their competition styles and also lack of their complete personal abilities
in full mixed fighting system, for many years.
In fact, Thai / kick boxers were suffered for lack of using the submission
grappling techniques in their competitions and or athletes of Jujitsu or
teak won do and karate were suffered for doesn't use from free punch
techniques, so they were trying to create mixed fighting methods.
The most creativity were appeared in years of 1970- 2000 in different forms
across world, that those methods mostly find by fight suffix, such as shoot
fight, part fight, free fight, ultimate fight and weapons fight.
Finally, at 1995 – 1999 years these thoughts and creativities in Middle Asia
and a great section of South of Asia and west of Asia especially Iran called
Oriental, little by little.
Beside Iran Maad Fight Association founded at 1997 in Hamedan by a Group of
Martial Arts Masters. Also IOA International Oriental Association found by
merging of Iran Part Fight Union and Iran Mad fight Association at 1999.
What occurred at the end of 1999 - 2000 was transfer the name of Oriental
sport from Asia to Europe and Africa, and finally promotion different events
under the name of this sport.
Beside, Alack Dolack Association of Iran, founded at 2004. This Association
that has 2 parts of Martial Arts and self defense, was active by leadership
of Mrs. Maryam Amidimehr one of the famous faces in Iran Martial Arts, and
World Oriental Federation founded by coordination of Iran Martial Arts
groups on 15th December 2005 in Hamedan-Iran.
World Oriental Federation officials with cooperation of their
representatives promoted the World Armature Oriental Championships
successfully during the 2nd international Martial Arts Games in D.P.R. Korea
at 2006.
During these years (1999-2007), tow International Organization WOF and IOA,
accomplished spread activities for development the Oriental sport and
promoted different events across world.
After many years struggles between tow WOF and IOA Organizations,
coordination meeting for technical rules of both Organization hold in
Hamedan center of appearance of oriental sport at 26th December 2006, and
finally an agreement letter did signature between tow Organization in
Dushanbe city capital of Republic Tajikistan and IOA international Oriental
Association merged to World Oriental Federation. and name of WOF World
Oriental Federation change to World Oriental sport Federation WOF.
Also, the draft of new World Governing Body of Oriental Combat Sport
constitution provides and regulates in Tbilisi- Georgia at 7th June 2007 and
approved by representatives during the General Assembly in Bangkok, Thailand
on 20th April 2008 with the Name of World O-Sport Federation WOF.
World Oriental sport Federation WOF is very glad for increasing its famous
in recent years, number of countries and athletes members of this Federation
are increasing across world, rapidly.
Modern Oriental (O-sport) has standard amateur rules and is recognized
completely and is active in 4 parts: sport culture, sport science, combat
sport, sport for all.
