Alak Dolak
Alak Dolak Games that was playing by ancient
Iranian recently was an attractive game that
amuses the children and even adults to it.
Alak Dolak is the main and important Iranian
local Game that lost its life during the last
years, little by little and is forgotten.
What is available in history it had more than
5000 years life, and Iranian Imperator Army has
been developed it for years as an enjoyable and
amusing play and off course as a Martial Arts
for readiness the Army by goals of reinforcement
the sight, concentrate of senses, grow the
organs of body and coordination between nervous
and body parts.
History show that often more than 10 years old
play the Alak Dolak by different styles.
By attention to the extension of Alak Dolak in
Meddle east and even near to Far East, Alak
Dolak was played in different states by especial
methods of that place.
For example Ekbatan's peoples who were in center
of history and civilization of ancient Iran and
one of the oldest city of world, in fact they
were capital colony, promoted the local Alak
Dolak competition each year in spring in 13th
day of New Year which is called Sizdahbedar by
the following approach.
Description the play: players divide into groups
by drawing and one of the groups start to play:
they put small wood (Dolak) on a small puddle or
middle of two bricks and with head of large wood
(Alak) that put on below of small wood (Dolak),
throw it toward peoples of opponent group who
are in yard. If Dolak be catch in space, then
the player who throw it will be exited,
otherwise he should pick up it on ground and
throw it to puddle (or bricks) and player hand
to hand, with concentration turn it in hand
until make far the Dolak that come to him by
strike, if he can't and distance of Dolak to
puddle be less than length of Alak then he is
failed and if he can make far it by strike, so
counted distance from puddle with length of
deadwood, 1, 2, 3,…
Again, he forward the and receive the Dolak and
counting the distance with Alak until reach to
necessary limit, otherwise all of them do this
work one by one, until reach, it's clear that if
they couldn't, submit the play to the opponent
group.
If they reach to the necessary limit (for
example 50), they strike to Dolak by Alak one by
one like pink pong ball and rocket, by small and
continuously strikes (cheleh) and count. Then
each one, by number of cheleh, forward the Dolak
by strong strike of Alak and each Dolak that
catch in space , a person who catch it, throw it
toward source, until all peoples of group strike
to number of his chele.
Length of the way (the last place that Dolak
fell to place of puddle) should pass by running
by peoples of opponent group one by one as
punishment. So that started with phrases of
(Ana, Dashgha, Zanbil, Sunbol, Uo…) and Uo…
sound continue in form of pulled until moment of
breath. (anywhere sound of a player cut, one of
his friend run the flow of the way with Uo…
sound, if they success to accomplish these
cases, they will control the game in the next
level, and work with Alak, and if they couldn't
play in middle of yard and follow the Dolak,
again.
