Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, in accordance with Article 14.5 of the World Anti-Doping Code, WADA publishes annually two sets of statistics: the first set reported by the WADA accredited laboratories on analyses performed, and the second by Anti-Doping Organizations (ADO) on their activities.

In 2012, pursuant to the International Standard for Laboratories (ISL), Laboratories reported their negative data as well as AAF and ATFs into ADAMS, therefore allowing the 2012 Anti-Doping Testing Figures to be compiled via ADAMS. The assignment of the ADAMS data by Testing Authority also allows, for the first time, the ability to differentiate each result by the responsible Anti-Doping Organization (International Federation, National Anti-Doping Organization, Event Organizer, etc.). This single report from ADAMS combines the Laboratory and ADO testing data in Urine, Blood and the Athlete Biological Passport samples and allows for a far higher level of detail and accuracy in accordance with the Code statistical reporting requirements.

WADA invites all ADOs to review their relevant testing data, and to verify such data via ADAMS.

In light of this, we are pleased to send you the 2012 WADA Anti-Doping Testing Figures Report (attached) which includes analyses by the 33 WADA accredited laboratories (in 2012) for in- and out–of-competition Urine, Blood and Blood Passport testing. This report is provided to you in advance of public distribution.

Further, please find attached an ADAMS compilation reference which outlines the critical parameters of the ADAMS Lab Results Report functionality that may be used by ADOs to compile their statistics from ADAMS. ADOs are encouraged to use this tool in ADAMS to compile and review the AAFs (Adverse Analytical Findings) and ATFs (Atypical Findings) related to their relevant
sport(s) in providing their ADO statistics to WADA.

ADOs wishing to comment on the statistics that are in the report and available in ADAMS, we ask that you advise us accordingly by email at wof@o-sport.info

Please provide your comments by Wednesday July 10, 2013.

We thank you for your cooperation and remain available to respond to any questions you may have in this regard.

Best regards,

World Anti-Doping Agency
